Chapter 14

Amy was dressed, laying on the couch in his office, and had a cool towel laying on her forehead. Once she came to, Amy jerked forward. Her movements were too fast for her body, and her head spun. She fell backward.

Strong hands held her.

"Perhaps I over did it?"

J looked down on Amy. She couldn't see anything, but she could still smell herself lingering on his lips and fingers. He pulled her up so that she could stand while leaning against him.

"I'll have someone drive you home," he said.

"No, no, I'm fine!" Amy said.

She pushed herself away from J and started to walk towards the office door. As she did, she faltered and nearly fell. Before she could, J's arms were around her. His hands held onto her arms, and she could feel the tension of his grip.

"You'll get in the car," J said, "or I'll bind you and take you myself."

Amy glanced at J. It wasn't a joke. Instead of struggling again, she simply nodded.

He picked her up and placed it back on the couch. After that, he called somebody on the phone, talking to them in urgent tones. It wasn't long before the same tall butler who led her in that morning was at the door. He didn't ask any questions. He just took Amy home.
